Prevost's squirrels are a medium-sized, tri-colored squirrel originating in southeast Asia. Their appearance is characterized by a glossy black layer on top, a reddish-brown coat on the bottom, and a white stripe running down each side. Their scientific name means "beautiful squirrel." Active during the day, these squirrels eat mainly fruits and vegetables, and can be tamed to make excellent pets with unique personalities.
